| The Chicago Blackhawks will end their 49-year Stanley Cup drought by defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins in the final, according to a simulation by EA Sports.
The video game developer, using its made-in-B.C. "NHL 10" game, says Cristobal Huet makes 43 saves and Jonathan Toews scores seven minutes into overtime to give the Hawks the Cup with a 2-1 win in Game 7. Three of the games in the final are decided in OT.
Chicago defenceman Duncan Keith wins the Conn Smythe trophy with four goals in the final and 25 points in the playoffs.
The simulation offers little hope for Canadian teams, with Montreal and Ottawa exiting in the first round after being swept by Washington and Pittsburgh, respectively. In the West, Vancouver dispatches Los Angeles in five games and Detroit in six before losing to Chicago in seven games in the Conference final.
In the East, Pittsburgh edges Washington in seven games to advance to the Stanley Cup final.

| J'y crois pas à cause de la malédiction des chokeux qui change de team. (Hossa). Il a perdu 2 ans de suite la coupe, et sa m'étonnerais pas qu'il perd encore, contre les Pens ça serait la meilleur chose pour lui. | |
