I open this new topic to post my findings while playing this version

1. Problem when selecting "Entry Draft" as start point for 1980 season

It seems that the rights/contracts of the players available in the "Entry Draft" are not reset before the draft starts!
This happens when "Entry Draft" and not "Training Camp" is selected and start season is 1980.
I think this applies to all seasons, not only 1980...

Database: RenaissOri.mdb

Tables: tblJoueursVitals and tblJoueursVitalsHist


Error: In row 2897 (both tables) for player "J.Petruzalek" the value in column "AnneeRep" is wrong.


It is "204" should be "2004.

The Playoff-Formats before 1993-94 season are wrong!


Before 1993 there was the division-format.


First two rounds were within the division, 1. vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3.



After the first two rounds the Division winners played out the Conference winner.... and so on.

Most windows are to small and are missing additional information, e.g. the "Waiver" and "Free Agent" Screens.

Could you make them bigger and also show e.g. age, contract size & length and attributes of a player

Why can players only have one position. Todd Elik e.g. played C and LW in reality.
Or Tony Granato is a RW but played LW on a line with Thomas Sandstrom and Wayne Gretky in 1990-91.
One quick solution would be to remove the decreasing of attributes when switching a FW from one FW-Positon to the other.
The decrease makes only sense when switching a FW to DF.

After 1987-88 Season on on draft day:


The Draft-Pick-Screen of the trade mode only the picks of round 1 to 7 are visible for trading.


Picks of round 8  to 13 are not visible (but the picks exist and players can be drafted).


This happens not on Entry Drafs at the start of games.


It only happens e.g. at the draft after the first season.


The 7 round draft was invented in 2005.


That might be the problem.

If played 1987-88 with L.A. Kings.
When I look into team history of L.A. Kings (at the start of 1988-89 season) the General Manager for 1987-88 is not me but R. Vachon and the Coach is also wrong.

Should be K. Hitchchok instead of M.Murphy.


It seems as if the GM and the Coach are taken from the real history.

I am not sure if the Captain is wrong because for me it was also D. Taylor.

Could you add the option to see the names of the players/management winning the STANLEY CUP (like in GM Hockey 09)?

I try to start a game:
Season: 1990

Team: Los Angeles
Start with: Entry Draft


It is possible to draft D.Capuano. This should not be possible. He was drafted in 1986.

REASON:
1990 NHL Entry Draft:
210  Dean Capuano  Defence   United States  Boston Bruins  Mount St. Charles Academy (USHS-RI) -> In the game "D.Capuano"

1986 NHL Entry Draft:
25  Dave Capuano  Left Wing   United States  Pittsburgh Penguins  Mount Saint Charles Academy (USHS-RI) -> In the game ALSO "D.Capuano"

I start a game:
Season: 1990
Team: Los Angeles

I trade for "D.Gilmour" from Calgary.


I already have a goaltender with the name "D.Gilmour" on the team.
This causes trouble.


I cannot assign the goaltender down to the minors after the preseason.
If I want to see the details of the goaltender, I get the details of the FW "D.Gilmour".


The problem seems to be that a goaltender and a player have the same name.


You should change the name of the FW e.g. to "Do.Gilmour".

REASON:
1982 NHL Entry Draft:
134  Doug Gilmour  Centre   Canada  St. Louis Blues  Cornwall Royals (OHL) -> In the game "D.Gilmour"

1985 NHL Entry Draft:
48  Darryl Gilmour  Goaltender   Canada  Philadelphia Flyers  Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL) -> In the game also "D.Gilmour"

I finished the 1990-91 season with L.A. Kings.


Expansion draft has been done -> S.J. selected no goalies.


When I try to trade a G to S.J. at the draft, an error happens "No current dataset" and
the game crashes.


This happens in the trade-screen when I switch to "Goalies", select one G from my side,
switch to "Picks" and select 3rd round pick from S.J.


Then the game crashes.

1992 NHL Entry Draft:


Defenseman "C.Cross" exists twice as draftable player (Must be a data-error)!

Will do my best to adjust in the 1st patch.

Another player that appears to be doubled is goalie "M. Shtalenkov" available in the 93 draft. It didn't effect my game but it was confusing because he would be a restricted free agent every season, even after signing him to a contract. Eventually I just let him leave to avoid any problems. And in the off season there would be two player cards for this player during the attributes progression screen.  

After checking I can't find two versions of this player in the game so I'm not sure what the glitch on this one is.

I don't know if creating a prospect is the cause of this or if it's a glitch but in the 92 draft there is no Roman Hamrlik. Unless I accidently deleted him in the editor.  

I'm in my third season with the sharks. Now in the strike year of 94/95. When I go into "advanced game responsibilities" the game gets a run time error 383, text property is read only. I can still play the game with no problem but is there anything I can do to get back into advanced game responsibilities?

UPDATE

I had a player injured and was able to get back in the screen, have to see if I can still open it when the player returns.

Now investing time to remove all double names in the game.

In the most recent lockout season 2012/13, I'm in a dynasty with Minnesota and after they play their 48th game the game only sims one game at each turn so you have to go three to ten turns just to get through one day. Has this happened to anyone else?

Even when a game is simmed the standings aren't updated. It seems to playing one game at a time but not making any record of it.

I backed up my game and even before the problem starts several teams have 49 or 50 games played in what should be a 48 game season. I started my dynasty in the 09/10 season.

I am working on a similar case for the 94-95 season.

I'd need someone to walk me through on how to send it, my computer knowledge is rather simple. I don' think it's the olympics, they should still be a year off, I think? This is the 2012/13 season, the game problem starts in the second half of the season, sometime early 2013. 

I mentioned the game difference because this is the year of the lockout and the schedule should be abbreviated (teams around 48 games) but the game shows a full schedule to be played. It seems to me the season is supposed to be ending at my last game played(game 48) but the sim is showing a full schedule still to be played(ie the remaning 34 games). Colorado playing 50 games if the season is only supposed to be 48 could be the problem, is what I meant, I think.
