L'autre chose j'en discutias avec mon père et il proposait, il devrait y avoir une règle qui serait instaurée, pour qu'on est pas le droit d'avoir un écart de salaire de plus de X millions (disons 5) dans le même contrat. Donc si Kovalchuk gagne 11 millions une année, il sera impossible qu'à un moment donné dans le contrat il gagne moins de 6 millions par exemple.

C'est complètement ridicule de dire que dans le même contrat le gars gagne une année 11 millions et une autre 500 000.

L'autre truc aussi : le salaire e 500 000$. L'an dernier, le salaire minimum était de combien? 450 000$, cette année 500 000. Est-ce que on peux supposer que disons de 10-11 ans, en 2020-2021 par exemple, le salaire minimum vas être passé à j'sais pas, 800 000$ par année? Donc à ce moment on vas possiblement se retrouver avec un Kovalchuk qui sera le seul de la ligue a gagné 500 000$ et qui aura possiblement a ce moment inscris je sais pas, 5-600 buts dans la LNH.

Bref, du grand n'importe quoi tout ça.

Je vois deux possibles actions de la LNH dans la prochaine renégociation de la convention collective : soit mettre le salaire annuel dans la masse salariale, ou offrir des contrats de n'importe quelle durée jusqu'à 35 ou 40 ans et après cela, des contrats d'une saison tout court

C'était clair dans l'optique des Devils qu'il ne jouerait pas jusqu'à 44 ans, et comme l'arbitre a clairement indiqué qu'il y avait 6 joueurs sur plus de 2000 lors des 20 dernières années qui ont joué en haut de 42 ans, c'était un coup d'épée dans l'eau (je vais même faire un perronisme : c'était un coup d'ÉTÉ dans l'eau)

Arbitrator Richard Bloch's ruling to side with the NHL on voiding Ilya Kovalchuk's contract on Monday could affect other such front-ended hockey contracts.

Canucks general manager Mike Gillis confirmed to the Vancouver Sun via email late Monday night that the league is looking into Roberto Luongo's 12-year contract that was signed last fall.

"We have complied with the NHL request for information and are awaiting further instructions," Gillis told The Sun. "Cannot say anything further at this point."

Bloch's ruling specifically mentioned the contracts of Luongo, Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Chris Pronger, Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard and Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa as deals that the league is still investigating.

"Each of these players will be 40 or over at the end of the contract term and each contract includes dramatic divebacks," Bloch wrote in his ruling. "Pronger's annual salary, for example, drops from $4,000,000 to $525,000 at the point he is earning almost 97% of the total $34,450,000 salary.

"Roberto Luongo, with Vancouver, has a 12- year agreement that will end when he is 43. After averaging some $7,000,000 per year for the first nine years of the Agreement, Luongo will receive an average of about 1.2 million during his last 3 years, amounting to some 5.7% of the total compensation during that time period."

The NHL Players' Association argued that those four deals were approved and that Kovalchuk's deal should be approved as well.

Bloch disagreed with that point, writing:

"The apparent purpose of this evidence is to suggest that the League's concern is late blooming and/or inconsistent. Several responses are in order: First, while the contracts have, in fact, been registered, their structure has not escaped League notice: those SPCs [standard player's contracts] are being investigated currently with at least the possibility of a subsequent withdrawal of the registration."

Pronger, Luongo, Hossa and Savard are among a long list of players who have signed long-term deals that included extra years with diminished salary.

selon moi, ils signeraient pour la plupart au même endroit, mais avec des termes différents dans leur contrat respectif.

Boynton est de retour a Chicago.

Pas Marc Savard à Boston, ils veulent s'en débarrasser, alors ils seraient sous le plafond salarial

The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Mark Mancari to a one-year contract.

Mancari was a restricted free agent who spent most of last season playing for Portland of the American Hockey League.

The 2004 seventh-round draft pick led the Pirates with 74 points (28 goals, 46 assists) in 74 games to finish eighth in AHL scoring.

He also had a goal and assist in six games with the Sabres. That gives him two goals and three assists in 16 NHL career games.

The Sabres announced the signing on Wednesday.
